Course Content
By the end of this course, delegates will:
- fully understand the needs and reasons for counselling
- develop a process for handling a counselling situation
- be able to deal with issues and boundaries in counselling
- have highly developed questioning skills
- understand fully the counselling relationship and how it can relate
to or eliminate disciplinary situations
- understand factors which cause stress in individuals
- be able to recognise and utilise effective and ineffective coping strategies
for problematic situations
- look at communication patterns which occur in problem situations
- understand and recognise burn-out and crisis counselling situations
- deal with bereavement and other 'sudden' counselling situations
- work through a wide range of situations and techniques
- understand how re-adjustment takes place
- leave the course with a huge amount of support material and useful addresses
and professional codes of practice.
