The coaching process works as follows:
- After an initial meeting known as an orientation session, where the two parities get to know each other, learners are left to decide if Hilife is the right coaching company for them.
- The orientation session is free of charge and free of obligation.
- Once the coaching starts a contract will be signed by both the coach and the learner outlining the way that they will work together, the confidentiality aspects of the session and other information regarding the location and timing of the sessions.
- The learner will initially sign up for 6 sessions usually on a one per month basis. Typically these sessions will last between one and two hours. Learners are encouraged to communicate between sessions by phone with urgent questions and issues or by e-mail with other questions or queries.
- There will always be actions for the learner to work through between sessions as well as some reflective work.
The following diagram outlines some of the typical tools and techniques that may occur at certain points in the coaching process. Coaching becomes less prescriptive, less directive and more personalised as it advances.:
